About the Program

Continue your professional training in Environmental Medicine with a mentorship program with PME. The goal of the mentorship program is to guide you on how to apply your knowledge of environmental health via patient case studies in different topic areas.

The mentorship sessions will be guided by thought leaders in their respective areas of Environmental Medicine using participant-submitted case studies. This is a great opportunity for practitioners to receive expert guidance on how to implement treatment strategies for patients who may be exposed to different environmental factors.

Mentors:

Walter Crinnion, ND

Walter J. Crinnion ND, received his degree in Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University in Seattle, Washington in 1982 with their first graduating class. After starting family practice he began to specialize in allergies and chronic health problems caused by environmental chemical overload. In 1985 he opened the most comprehensive cleansing facility in North America for the treatment of chemically poisoned individuals. He has published several articles in peer-reviewed journals on the topic of environmental overload and conducts ongoing trainings in Environmental Medicine for healthcare professionals. He has been on the board of directors of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians and was the recipient of their first award for in-office research in 1999 and was awarded it a second time in 2002. He has been a faculty member at Bastyr University (Seattle, WA.), the National College of Naturopathic Medicine (Portland, OR.), the University of Bridgeport School of Naturopathic Medicine (Bridgeport, CT.) and Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine (Tempe, AZ.) where he chaired their Environmental Medicine Department from 2003 - 2012. In 2001 he appeared three times with Barbara Walters on ABC’s “The View”. His first book: Clean, Green and Lean was published by Wiley and Sons in 2009, and is used as a basic ‘must read’ by many practicing physicians for their patients. He is now the chief science officer at Enzymedica, a manufacture of plant-based enzymes.

Lisa Nagy, MD

Lisa Lavine Nagy MD graduated Magna Cum Laude from The University of Pennsylvania and then from Cornell Medical College in 1986. After a surgical internship she completed Emergency Medicine residency at Metropolitan Hospital in NYC and practiced in Los Angeles until becoming severely ill (Addison's Disease, Mitochondrial Myopathy, Dysautonomia) - as a result of a complex medical condition known as Chemical Sensitivity or Environmental Illness.

She is now president of Preventive and Environmental Health Alliance which is a group focused on educating medical students, doctors, the AMA, congress and the public and assists patients to find help nationwide. Listening to physicians and other people who have developed severe Environmental Illness is the first step towards helping the 75 million people in the country with various health issues, including autoimmunity, related to their environments. Someone is listening - she was appointed as a delegate to the Massachusetts Medical Society and to the CDC's National Conversation on Chemicals and Public Health.

Gregg Govett, MD

Dr. Govett graduated from Texas Tech University School of Medicine and completed his post-graduate residency training in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at Tulane University in New Orleans, LA. He is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology, the American Board of Environmental Medicine, and is also a fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy.

Dr. Govett practiced otolaryngology in Chicksaw, OK from 1995-1998. During that time, he encountered a rare, reportable malignancy along with other malignancies that exceeded the statistical incidence of those malignancies in that county. Using toxicology testing, Dr. Govett determined that the malignancies were induced by chlorinated pesticides. Upon making this find, he discovered that crop dusting was pioneered in Grady County, OK after WWII.

Ty Vincent, MD

Dr. Vincent is an Integrative Medical Physician licensed in Alaska and Hawaii. He completed his medical education and training at the University of Washington. Initially trained in family medicine providing the full-spectrum of medical care from clinic visits to managing patients from a conventional perspective, Dr. Vincent sought education in other forms of healing to promote optimal health. He maintains a large group practice in Alaska: Mat-Su Integrative Medicine, as well as an integrative practice in Kona, Hawaii. He authored the book entitled Thinking Outside the Pill Box to share his perspective on integrative medicine.

Jessica Tran, ND

Licensed in California and Arizona, Dr. Tran is a doctor of naturopathic medicine with an integrative perspective on health and healing. She received her naturopathic medical degree from Bastyr University, located north of Seattle, Washington. She completed a one-year Family Practice residency, three-year Environmental Medicine fellowship, and served as Clinical Faculty in both the Departments of Environmental Medicine and General Medicine at Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Tempe, AZ. She has a private practice in Irvine, CA focused on environmental medicine.
