Dr. Novack will discuss the problem with antibiotic resistance and the lack of research for currently used antibiotics in addition to botanical, viral and fungal products used in the treatment of specific infections. He discusses the combined use of botanicals and antibiotics and contraindications for these combinations.

Jeffrey Novack Ph.D.
Jeffrey Novack earned his Ph.D. in pharmacology from the University of Washington School of Medicine (Department of Pharmacology) in signal transduction. He did post-doctoral research in immunology and tyrosine kinase signaling at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center and later taught pharmacology, immunology, infectious disease, and pathology at the medical school level for 13 years.
Dr. Novack is currently on the faculty at Pacific Northwest University where he teaches immunology, portions of pathology, and pharmacology. He has done research on the effects of PSK on immune function in mice and humans and is interested in the effect of natural products on the innate and adaptive immunity and on inflammation.
